STEER WRESTLING

The mission of the U.S. Jr. Steer Wrestling Championship is to shine the spotlight on exceptional steer wrestling talent among young men under the age of 19. We invite the top steer wrestling contestants in the world to compete to be crowned Champion.

We aim to bring rodeo to people to witness the intense battles of strength, agility, and determination as talented cowboys compete for the U.S. Jr. Steer Wrestling Championship title, and at the same time, provide a platform for young talent to improve in their sport and earn points toward the Junior World Finals.

The U.S. Jr. Steer Wrestling Champion title is earned in a bracket-style format. Contestants-engage in a three-round qualifier, followed by a four-man match tournament. Advancement to the match play tournament will be based on the top four contestants with the highest earnings from the qualifiers. The semifinals feature two four-head matches, pitting the highest money winner against the fourth-place earner, and the second and third-place finishers against each other. The finalists are determined based on the fastest total time on four heads in each match. Ultimately, the Champion will be crowned, receiving the 2023 U.S. Jr. Steer Wrestling Championship Buckle, along with their money winnings.
