The 2022 U.S. Junior Steer Wrestling Championship will be held in Marble Falls, TX on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at 2:00 PM CT. The Championship consists of a three round qualifier with $3,000 added money plus followed by match play. Contestants may also earn qualifying points for Ote Berry’s Junior Steer Wrestling Championship Tour with membership in the organization. This is the final event of the year to receive points toward the Junior World Finals. The steers that will be used at the JWF will be chosen from the steers used at this event. After the first three rounds are complete, the top 4 money winners will advance on to match play. Match play will determine the champion. The U.S. Jr Steer Wrestling Champion will be rewarded $5,000 and the Reagon Walker Buckle. The runner up will receive $2,500 for winning the Semi-Final round. The fastest time of the day and the average winner of the qualifier will both receive $1,000.
PRCA Rodeo attire will be required for all contestants and hazers in order to compete in the US Jr Steer Wrestling Championship. At the time of entry, all contestants must specify if they wish to participate in the match aspect of the Championship. Contestants will be required to wear special sponsor shirts during the match portions of the event, which will be provided once they have qualified for match play.
All contests must enter the rodeo before Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 5:00 P.M. There will be a steer for every contestant in all three round. To gage the proper number of steers needed, please enter the rodeo prior to October 5. Every contestant will only be able to enter the rodeo one time.
To compete, you must be a member of The Ote Berry Steer Wrestling Championship Tour. To become a member print out the PDF down below, fill out form, and include $50 for membership fees. Please mail form and money to P.O. Box 854, Checotah, OK 74426 addressed to Ote Berry. Checks and cash are welcome, all checks need to be made out to Ote Berry.
